Amanda Gustin is a City Councilor, representing Ward 2 in Barre City, first elected in May 2024.

She has lived in Barre City since 2015, and (with some time off for graduate school) in Vermont since 2001, when she came to the state to attend Middlebury College.

Her professional work is as an historian who studies Vermont history as Director of Collections at the Vermont Historical Society. She has personal research interests in military and equine history.

Since 2018, she has owned and operated a small business making horse equipment on an online storefront.

Gustin serves as Barre City Council’s representative on the Barre City Police Advisory Committee and Cow Pasture Committee. She is also involved with the Barre City Housing Task Force, the Barre City Warming Shelter, and the Winooski Flood Resilience Collaborative.
